Astria Learning Partners with SOU to Advance Digital Education

Astria Learning is excited to announce a new strategic partnership with Sokhumi State University (SOU) in Tbilisi, Georgia. This collaboration aims to deliver scalable, high-quality digital education through innovative online learning solutions.

On July 4, 2025, Dr. Jeff Bordes, Founder of Astria Learning, and Ambassador Zurab Eristavi, Ecampus Partnership Manager, visited SOU’s main campus for a high-level meeting centered on advancing digital transformation in higher education.

Headquartered in Tampa, Florida, Astria Learning is an AI-powered EdTech company specializing in the development and deployment of secure, scalable Learning Management Systems (LMS) for universities worldwide. Our mission is to empower institutions to deliver accessible, flexible, and globally competitive online education.

Empowering Higher Education in Georgia

During the visit, the Astria team introduced the university’s academic leadership to a forward-looking online education project, designed to meet the growing demand for flexible learning options in Georgia. The focus areas include Business and Information Technology, aligning with global workforce needs and the evolving interests of students.

The university’s academic staff actively participated in the session, engaging in a dynamic discussion about the program’s structure, student engagement models, and the strategic value of integrating online education into the university’s broader academic framework.

A Shared Vision for Innovation

Professor Zurab Khonelidze, Rector of Sokhumi State University, warmly welcomed the collaboration, noting that Astria Learning’s vision aligns closely with the university’s mission of introducing innovative teaching methodologies and fostering strong international academic relations.

This shared understanding led to an agreement to formalize the partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the near future. The MoU will mark the official launch of joint efforts to develop, localize, and deliver online programs through Astria’s advanced eCampus platform.

Looking Ahead

This partnership represents a significant step forward in modernizing higher education in Georgia. It supports a broader mission to empower students with globally aligned, locally relevant digital education that breaks traditional barriers and opens new academic pathways.
